To celebrate 30 years of representing the professsion of garden design, the Society of Garden Designers have selected 30 of their top designers to open a garden that they had designed to the general public. Deakinlock were pleased to be one of the few invited to participate, opening the gardens at Woodton Lodge a few miles south of Norwich. The weather was fine, with glorious sunshine and blue skies setting off the garden for the 40 or so visitors.

The garden, covering an area of approximately 2-3 acres is split into areas with different styles and uses. To the front of the georgian property, Jason created a formal garden and driveway which balanced the symmetry and style of the house. To the west of there is a vegetable garden with four large beds laid out with paths dissecting them and enclosed by a mature beech hedge.

To the South there is a walled garden, accessed from the kitched, which provides an intimate informal garden for the family to enjoy which is planted with many herbaceous plants, flowering shrubs and climbing roses providing colour, texture and scent throughout the Spring and Summer months. Sundays event was also held in asscociation with East Coast Hospice, a charity who are fund raising for the development of a new hospice in East Norfolk. Their support was much appreciated and we hope that their involvment was beneficial in raising awareness and funds!

We would like to thank all those who visited and hopefully enjoyed the gardens and importantly we would like to thank Jane amd Mike for their generosity and hard work it is very much appreciated.
