We travelled down to Chelsea on friday morning leaving at 6.30am and arrived at Chelsea to be sent over the Battersea tyo wait for a slot in the show ground, we finally got in near 11am and set straight to work. The first hurdle was the box globes, cracking specimens but the root balls were too big for the planters on the deck, so we had to quickly re-think and decided to plant them in the beds. This took a mammoth effors as they were incredible heavy. They were in place by lunchtime, we then had to redesign the planting to suit and set out and plant, given that we had only alowed one day to plant it was going to be a late one! WE finally stopped for a bite to eat at 6.30 to find that all the on site catering had packed up at 5.30pm so we ate what was left of our sandwiches and completed the planting at around 8.30pm. We blagged some help to move 6 6m trees behind the marquee to disguise it as much as possible. We were done! All that was left was the glass screen sto be installed and the furniture. We finally got back at around midnight after very long day.
