Site Description
A 3-storey Town House built in 90’s originally built Notcutts Landscapes had become tired and required an overhaul. The garden was surrounded by a red brick wall curved at one end and a vertical picket fence on the remaining boundary. The site dropped 450mm in less than 5m and therefore had to accommodate steps to the rear entrance. The garden was 5m x 5m.
Design Brief
To design a modern Courtyard Garden to be enjoyed year round if not physically in the garden then to be viewed from the house as an outdoor room. The wall dominated the garden with an uninspiring engineering brick and Blanc de Bierges paving. The wall was therefore to be rendered and the paving choices to provide a contemporary feel, with the addition of a slate panel and Urbis Pots to complete the transformation.
Materials used were Strat Stone Rimini Paving, Granite Setts, Timber baton fencing, Rutsic Slate panels Island Stone, URBIS Design Pots.
